Start
If you have never used a crypto wallet, start here. This page covers everything you need to set up before making your first transfer with ImplicitEx. Follow the steps in order — each one builds on the previous.
What you need
Before you can send USDC through ImplicitEx, you need three things:
- A MetaMask wallet.
MetaMask is a browser extension that lets you connect to blockchain applications. It stores your wallet address and signs transactions on your behalf. ImplicitEx does not hold your funds — your wallet does. - USDC on Polygon.
USDC is a digital dollar pegged 1:1 to USD and issued by Circle. ImplicitEx transfers USDC on the Polygon network. The amount you send, plus the 1% platform fee, must be in your wallet before you begin. - A small amount of POL for gas.
Every transaction on Polygon requires a small gas fee paid in POL (Polygon's native token). This is typically a fraction of a cent. Without it, transactions cannot be submitted.
Step-by-step setup
- Install MetaMask.
Download it from metamask.io or your browser's verified extension store. Do not install wallet software from third-party sites, search ads, or links in messages. Only install from official sources. - Create a wallet.
MetaMask will generate a new wallet address for you. If you already have a MetaMask wallet, you can import it using your recovery phrase instead of creating a new one. - Write down your recovery phrase offline.
MetaMask will show you a 12-word recovery phrase during setup. Write it on paper and store it somewhere secure. Do not photograph it, type it into notes apps, email it to yourself, or save it in cloud storage. Anyone who has your recovery phrase controls your wallet. There is no way to recover a wallet without it. - Add Polygon network.
MetaMask may already include Polygon. If not, you can add it inside MetaMask under Networks, or visit the Polygon documentation for the network details. Make sure you are adding Polygon mainnet, not a testnet. - Obtain USDC on Polygon.
You can buy USDC through a supported exchange or on-ramp such as Coinbase. When withdrawing, confirm you are sending USDC on the Polygon network — not Ethereum or another chain. Also keep a small amount of POL in the same wallet to pay network gas. - Connect your wallet to ImplicitEx.
Return to ImplicitEx and click Connect Wallet. Select MetaMask and approve the connection. ImplicitEx will not request any transaction at this point — it only reads your wallet address and balance. - Review and execute a transfer.
Enter the recipient address and amount. Review the transfer summary carefully — verify the recipient address, amount, fee, and total debit before confirming anything in MetaMask. Two wallet confirmations are required: one to authorize the contract, one to send the funds. Authorization alone does not move money.
Safety notes
ImplicitEx is a non-custodial platform. Once a transfer is confirmed on-chain, it cannot be reversed. Review every transfer carefully before approving anything in MetaMask.
- Always verify the recipient address before confirming. Blockchain transactions are irreversible.
- Never share your recovery phrase with anyone, including support agents or websites claiming to help you recover a wallet.
- Only install MetaMask from official sources. Fake wallet extensions are a common attack vector.
- Confirm the network before withdrawing from an exchange. Sending Ethereum USDC to a Polygon address, or vice versa, can result in inaccessible funds.
